Can I run a 426 jug on a 400 engine?

looking for more ccs.....can i run a 426 piston and jug with my wr400 engine? basiclly just wondering if the cranks are the same.

The quick answer is yes. But there may be some stuff you need to do to make it work. I was looking at a 440 kit that stroked the crank and used a 426 jug and piston. So- it's doable, just don't know what all is involved.

I though the diameters of the piston pins were a different size.Maybe Im wrong.I never did it, but I thought I remember hearing some thing about it

The pin diameters ARE different. If you are going to run a 426 piston and cylinder, you have to have your crank rebuilt with a 426 rod as well.

yes, i see from that site also that the 400 has a smaller crank. INSTEAD of getting your cranked stroked, has anyone installed a 450 crank?
