cracked crankcase

I have a crack in the top of my crankcase (right side) of my 2005 YZ450F ,I am not a machanic by any means but not bad at fixing things ,just want some advise if i should tackle this myself or bring it in to the shop. Thanks

JB Weld :worthy:

As long as it is not a stressed area you can get by with a JB Weld patch job.

What caused the crack is the important question.

looks like a stress crack near one of the bolts on the top side , after a good ride you notice some oil but not too bad , thanks for the reply

You may have a mis-aligned mount or missing a space washer or something. Need to correct the problem first.
