WR450 '07 Vampire

10 posts in this topic

Hi to all, i'm a happy WR450 '07 owner from Italy, i would like to ask if you also have this big problem about fuel consumption.

With my previous WR450 '04 i had an autonomy of approx 95km/59mi and with reserve i went to 110km/68mi, now with the '07 mod i can do approx 70km/43mi and with reserve 80km/50mi.

That's really nasty, what did they do to this engine?

Is that only a problem of my bike or you experienced it too?

Thanks.

You are right, sorry i forgot to mention i had on my '04 the fuel tank of '05, i obviously compare the consumption of '04 and '07 starting from the same tank capacity, 8Lt/2,11gal.

Range is extremely dependant on terrain. Unless the bike you compare to is riding on the exact same terrain under the same conditions, be it wet or dry, comparing is fruitless. My mileage varies by nearly 100% from tight single track (23mpg) to fire roads (close to 50 mpg).

Yamita......that does sound like a lot of fuel consumption for any WR. My 06 WR450 gets between 28 and 36 mpg. As you know, it depends on how aggressively you work the throttle, just like driving a car, etc. Does it act like it is running rich?
