Axle block differences?

I bought some second hand Supermoto Engineering axle sliders, the ones that replace the axle blocks, for my 2001 YZ426. The seller used them on an 06 WR450, and judging from everything I read they should work on my bike. When I tried to mount them they do not fit in the axle block gap. They are too small and can be turned about 1/8 a turn up and down. This won't do. So the question is, is there really a difference in that space from the '06 WR and my '01 YZ, or was he using parts intended for another bike? I'm guessing the latter.

Yes, there definitely is.

Drat! So it's another case of assumption on the vendor sites that people are not considering motarding the 426s. When they saw "fits all YZ, WR, and YZF" they don't go back beyond about 2003. Ah, well. I'm getting used to it.
