cam help

I am going to be completley going through my 2002 426f. I am thinking of doing the 2003 450 cam upgrade but i am concerned with reliability. After reading alot on this forum, I know people love the upgrade, but i am really concerned as to how it will affect reliabilty. Apparantly there is a slight difference that will cause abnormal wear over time. I am a pretty biy guy at

6'2 and 240 lbs and can usually start the bike pretty easily. however i seem to stall it at low speeds and would love to be able to get it started as easy as possible .. Can anyone chime in??Also, what do you do with the decomp lever???

ok, thanks. So can someone save me reading that whole thread and give me

a complete list of everything i will need.?? And approximate cost? Thanks alot.

The list of necessary parts is:

One exhaust cam.

Recommended:

New cam chain.

Optional:

Something to block off the decomp shaft bore.

Read around the links I posted, and you'll get the info you need.

cool thanks..

Gray...are you going soft on us?

Auto-decomp exhaust cam - $150.00

Cam chain - $13.00

Decomp. shaft bore plug - $20

Not getting chewed out by Grayracer for asking others to do your research for you even when it's all right there in front of you - Priceless.

Actually the cam chain for a 426 is apt to be more like $35. I don't know why they're so much more.

OTOH, an 18mm expansion plug from an auto parts store is 85 cents.

Sometimes, I try to consider how much good it would actually do, and sometimes I just don't feel like bothering with it.
