220# Rider - 650L - Spring Rates???

3 posts in this topic

A friends wife wants to buy springs for his 650L for Xmas,(she is so sweet!), and ask for my help. I checked Race Tech and they say .470 kg/mm fork and 61063.000 kg/mm shock. The fork I can believe but the shock?? He is 6' 220lbs. Thanks for the help.

Dutch,

I was looking at different riders weights on the Race Tech site the other day.

Rider weight with no gear: 220lbs

Fork Spring Rate: .47 kg/mm

Shock Spring Rate Recommended: 10.4 kg/mm

Nearest available: 10.5 kg/mm

If you carry a backpack or have saddlebags with additonal gear, you would want to raise the rider weight accordingly.
