Your fuel is disappearing. Capture it.

I have a 2006 XR650L with the same tank. I am planning on trying this on my bike. Does anyone that has done this taken data on the fuel savings? I will run a full tank thru before and after the mod to see what the benifits are. As far as the tank sepage. Does anyone have any close up pictures or more detail on how to coat your tank so that it will last and how they went about doing it. This is a GREAT topic with the high gas prices on how to squeeze the MPGs out of our pigs!! GREAT JOB!! I am thinking about looking at this application on my CRF450R also.

It would be very interesting to see how many miles per tank before and after. I already coated my tank, so it's kinda too late to test that aspect. That's exciting that you're hooking it up. You'll really enjoy the results. As far as the tank coating, I just used a rag to wipe it on in 3 coats...maybe 15min between coats. It's high gloss in the beginning, but will get scuffy looking after awhile...easy to reapply though. Using a rag that doesn't leave behind lint is important too otherwise it will get stuck in the finish. Keep us posted on those results when you get'em! I may disconnect my tank breather for a tank of gas and see for myself too.

It's my pleasure guys. This forum is a great place, I'm glad to be a part of it.

Thanks for the direction. I will try to pick some up soon. may be a while before I get through a few tanks of fuel since it is raining here so much. I will report later. Thanks again!
