XRL engine on ebay

14 posts in this topic

Many of you may know there's a brand new XRL engine that's been listed on ebay for a number of weeks. It started out well over 2k dollars and is now down to 1550. What do you think is a good price. I'm the type to buy it now and see if I could get a little more for it during riding season OR do a HC piston and cam and resell it.

I wouldn't pay that much for it if its stock.

Now if it was pumped up...:prof:

I mean, hi-compresssion, cam, porting, big fins, etc.

You can't rebuild one for that price. buy it.

I spent 2500 on my last rebuild from the bottom up with me doing all the work and buying all oem parts. just a cylinder head new is 450.00

I talked to that guy before. Seems nice enough. He buys leftover bikes from a dealer buddy of his and parts them out.

It is a brand new engine...0 hours.

That guy lives just a couple of miles from me, seems like a really nice guy. I've bought a couple of things from him.

I really hate to see all those brand new bikes get torn down and parted out like that.

I just don't understand why the dealership does that, why not sell it at whatever price this guy gets them for? It must be cheap.....

I've been watching this guys auctions for a couple of months now and I'm 99% sure that he has other people placing bids on his auctions to jack up the price. I think this guy is a crook, if you don't believe me just watch his auctions and watch other peoples auctions of the same item. It also seems really odd to me that he is parting out brand new bikes, and that he seems to have an endless supply of xrl's to part out. :prof:

I just put a new top end in XRL and it come me over 2 grand cdn all stock. That motor is a good price.Just wish I had of seen it before I had my motor sent in..Oh well and I only had the top end done...I would be worried about where it came from and would like to see proof that the parts are not stolen..It's easy enough to check with the serial #'s is it not?

A while back I offered him 1300 dollars and he seemed insulted, but he's down to 1400 right now. He started around 2200 I think.
