04 YZ426 Conversion...

5 posts in this topic

Well Over the last 6 months I've been Buying Parts here and there for the Conversion. It all started Last year at the practice track, I'm taking a break and I put my bike on the center stand. A gust of wend whips up and over she goes and smashes the filler neck on my helmet. :excuseme: Yea Yea.. Windy Day.. So I've been Epoxy and JB Welding the Filler Neck or what ever it took to keep fuel from spilling on my  .

This winter while I couldn't ride I finally took everything apart and started the process.

I used an Airbox from an 04 Yz450f but the Boot is from a 07 Yz450f believe it or not they interchange.

Well the funny thing was I decided to do the Valve clearance checks since i had it appart. Well I zip tied the DeComp Lever so I could turn it over for the correct timing marks.. Well When I checked the clearances the Exhaust was Way off from my last measurements.. I proceeded too take the cam covers off to pull the ship buckets.. Only then did I notice the DeComp lever was tied open.. :excuseme: Almost lost my 8mm socket in the engine too.. :sweden: I can laugh about it now but at the time :excuseme: .

That would be my buddy Apollo posing in the Before Photo
