YZ426F How much?

I've been looking at a 01 YZ426 lately. I really like it. It has minimal hours on it, and the current owner is a race vet that I've known personally for many years. He is the original owner and this bike has never been on the track.(strictly trail ridden) It has been taken great of and has little wear. Is $3000 just to much or should i try to talk him down? And if i should talk him down, how much?

This probably doesn't help very much... but I recently sold my 2000 YZ426F for 1750.00. It wasn't in prime condition but it was a great bike. I simply wanted to sell it since getting a new bike.
