Gearing

I have an 04 YZ450F that I always ride in the bush/woods and it still has the standard gearing. Being a 4 speed it runs out of legs on the long open trails and is probably geared a bit to high in the tight stuff. Do I need to change the front sproket, rear sproket or both? I need this bike to last me another 6-12 months until I can upgrade to a WR but for now it will have to be just a sproket change.

OK, so which of these problems do you want to make worse in order to make the other better?

Which sprocket you change depends on how much change yopu want, and/or your budget. Front cogs are cheaper, and some would say easier to change, although that's debatable, but one tooth at the front is equal roughly to 3 at the rear.
