Ah ok then you have a dealer that takes care of you. I hope you know the guy and he takes care of you. If you signed up online then you may not know who the guy is. He may not even know motorcycles at all. Too bad I hate it when that happens. I sponsor local races and like it when people have local providers for parts and or services from local people who support what we all do & love.

If you are a preferred customer, as I am, then there really is little need to ever have any contact with whoever your assigned dealer is. I order everything direct, and as long as I watch my inventory, I get what I need when I need it, and at the same price a dealer level customer pays. The only difference is that PC's don't get the commission credits that dealers do, but if you're just buying for your own use, you don't get much benefit from that, anyway.

It is handy to at least know who the dealer in your area is in the event that you need something quickly, though. In my case, however, the dealer they chose to assign me to was an elderly couple who barely realize that they are dealers. They did refer me to another dealer up the hierarchy who carries a large stock, but I've never had a reason to contact him.

dirtbikindad426, you are correct in one regard. I have been a T-1 certified dealer for many years and although many PCs never need any help (they know what they want and just want the dealer pricing), there are times when they need specific advice on a product or application.

And yes, it should be someone who knows something about the bikes or other common lubricant applications (e.g. compressors, trailers etc) that we rely upon to keep running.
