Hi Guys, I just got my new 08 wr450f:ride: It cam e with a six month warranty from the Yamaha dealer in Pretoria South Africa, why do you guys in the states only get 30 days? I find it wierd.

Here in Ohio, I beleive I get a 6 month warranty from Yamaha as well, I just called the dealer a few days ago asking if my (lol..) front fork seals were covered, he said no. lol.. but I originally called to see if I purchased a warranty with my bike (i didnt, bad idea? not sure). But yeah, he told me yamaha gives theyre bikes a 6 month factory warranty.

Directly from Yamaha's site. The last line says 30 days limited warranty. Not sure how people are getting 6 months? Is that an extended warranty or standard?

its 30 days on racing bikes..too bad mine was not listed as a streetbike it was plated b4 i sent in the paperwork

The warranty is 30 days from the factory. However, there is a "loophole" in Yamaha warranty law where you can buy an extended warranty for up to 3 years.
