Chris,

Would your family like to adopt a 38 yr old motorcycle nut with two kids and a wife? I will get rid of the dog and the cat! :)

OK, my turn: I'm the "Director of Software Development" where I work. When I'm not developing ridiculously complicated engineering software (computational fluid dynamics, environmental modeling, heat transfer, thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and other fun stuff) in any of a dozen languages, I'm also the Systems Admin, Network Admin, Security Admin, and guru of all things computertized or technical (at least that's what I've fooled my coworkers into believing). I've been developing software for 19 years, 13 of of which overlapped a 15 year career as a transmission rebuilder, shop owner, welder, machinist, and guru of all things automotive (much of which I've conveniently forgotten!). From age 6 to 17 I was also a classically trained concert pianist and trumpet player, but ventured into anything but classical....and realized there was no money in music for me thanks to some early exposure to grizzled old veterans in the business. As a sideline in recent years I have found success in doing customized musical composition for high-end corporate multi-media presentations....but this is mainly an excuse to buy more music gear. For now, my job description has more simplicity and clarity than ever: "Support my family and my riding habit" :-)

We sure have a wide range of professions covered here!

BigDesto, Dude, I was a Culver on Saturday (Stg 5). I was setting up a Steadicam for the Bonnie Hunt pilot. I needed a sandbag so my rig wouldn't fall over and I couldn't find a single one. You guys keep a tight ship!!!!! (they were all locked up)
