thumb brake

7 posts in this topic

I read years ago about it,they lay it over so far in right hander's they can't get there foot on the brake,so some were using a handle bar mounted brake.I think Dohane did cause his rt. foot was screwed up.

If its so good, then who uses them in their professional off-road or MX careers?

I thought about thumb brakes when I first got into dirt riding since I wanted to put my right foot down when I had to use the brakes but then I learned that I had to brake before the foot went down and when the foot was going down, I didn't want to be on the back brake. The 650R has plenty of engine braking when you are leaning it over and jamming it through a turn.
