Does the XR650L share a front wheel?

14 posts in this topic

It's working. I hear ya!

When ya find out, let me know. I'm looking for wheel options. If I read the charts correctly Excel makes a back wheel/spoke set for an L but not a front.

The NX650 is rarer for aftermarket rotors than the L is. I was hoping for something like an XR250 or XR400 but I'm pretty sure they're different.

My XR600R bolts up and my CR500R does too. For the CR, I had to turn some spacers for the proper distance on the rotor side.

Yep. The XRL and XR6 share a front wheel (and the rear, for what it's worth).

But does the rotor bolt up? I got one the was listed for the XR650L, the package says it's for the CR125, CR250 and CR500 and it's not even close.

What I did at first for the CR was double up the caliper side with TWO spacers, guess what, it is usable. I then turned down slightly less on a mill

for a single spacer. I didn't even screw with the speedo side as I run GPS. I don't know if the parts work on that side, but used the CR rim for a weekend until my new tire came tuesday. My CR stuff is not DOT.

What I need to know is...will any other rotor bolt up to the front hub of an XR650L wheel.

I whish I could find a definitive anwer to this one too. There are a ton of XR650R wheels for sale, but not many XRL or XR600 wheels. I wonder if any other front wheels are a bolt on.

XRL wheels with tires. Perfect shape, tight spokes, great tires. Sun rim rear, OEM front. PM if interested.

I have used a front wheel from an NX 650 on my XRL, I had to make a spacer for the left side & replace the bearings with a 17mm inner bore bearing. The axle from an NX is 15mm.

Here is an update. I only found one aftermarket rotor that fits. EBC 6010D. Others list it ones they claim will fit, but do not. I had a Galfer wave rotor for the front that was not even close. If it says it fits any of the XRR bikes, it does not fit. The hub must be different because of the speedo drive. The reave Galfer wave rotor does fit nicely.
