xr 600 electrical problems???

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some suggestions/help regarding the electrical system on my xr 600R dual sports from 95.

the problem is:

the lights don´t work,so i try to mesure the strator and come whit the mesure of -0.02 dcv on the digital multimeter.

but the mesure on my rear brake ligth is 14.30 dcv.

Will the strator need to be replaced?

reciter/regulator?

or both?

Any tips or recommendation would be appreciated?

ok, your lights dont work but you have battery voltage at the brake/tail light?

how's the resistance at the stator?

My buddy had problems with his dual sport kit & he talked to someone at Baja designs & they walked him thru diagnosis. & sent part that needed replacing. I would think if you get juice at rear lamp, You need to find why its not at front. Thus stator & related componants ok.

The power from the stator is AC not DC so you will have to use a different setting on the multi meter. Check the bulbs, if you have 14 dc v at the tail light it should light up from the battery power. Make sure none of the filaments are broken, and that it is hooked in.
