xr600 gas tank strap

Where does the gas tank strap attach to the frame? My bike didn't come with the strap and I bought one for it. I see where it hooks around the screw stop on the gas tank but where would I attach it to the frame? There is no hook or metal tag to hook the strap too.

There is one metal tag that points forward to the steering stem, with a rubber cover surrounding it.

any help would be appreciated

It attaches to the frame right at the base of the tank in the rear.

I will look again after work but am having a hard time trying to see it in my mind. It can not be hard to secure this. thanks
