99 yz400 carb options

Recommended Posts

The carb on the bike I bought has been butchered. The overflow drain (the brass tube that points upward in the float bowl) has been bronken of and glues. It now leaks. There's a bunch of other wierd stuff going on inside it as well as corrosion from old fuel. Am I better off to put on a newer carb from a 426/450? If so, which carb is a good bet to go with? Thanks

I am going to attempt to put a carb from a 05 450f on my buddies 99 400f. I will let you know what the outcome is and if there is anything to look out for.
