Odometer quit working

I changed the front wheel bearings today and when I took the cable for the odometer loose I pulled on the cable and apparently pulled it out of the meter box. I tried to put it back in and it just clicked like the cable wan't back in completely. I pulled the whole cable out for now. Is there a thing to take the place of the box on the axle where I can just take the whole thing off like a YZ?
