CA Plates on your WR - Post your solutions please...

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I'd like to consolidate this information in to a sort of FAQ. I hope you will take the time to contribute your experiences for our TT board members in the hopes of expanding our sport. Please take 5 minutes to fill in as much as you can or at least tell us how to avoid problems you may have had. Your help is greatly appreciated and will only serve to help our collective causes.

Please cut&paste in on the following questions in your post, lenghty reply's like mine here are not necessary, but very welcome. If I'm missing some critical questions, post and I will fix.

Please help your fellow TT'ers. Allow me to start.

Chaindrive, yes of course... I'm sorta hunting for those out here in CA but of course all are welcome to cotribute. Sorry if the above post is a bit cranky, I'm in an absolutely pisspoor mood today.

Thanks again.

I still have the posts and p.m.'s some of the other guys sent me when I began looking for info and help. Not CA stuff, though, except yours. My bro in San Diego says no problem transfering to CA, but I gotta tell ya, that state's laws make me leery. Maybe we should switch titles and frames :) , there isn't a WR or Yamaha identifier on mine. Are you having red-tape problems?

I don't know how to do all that cut and paste crap!! Send me some PM and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

I have a 99'WR400 that has plates.

Tony

Two comments:

1. Thanks to NVR FNSH for his contribution.

2. Why is it so hard to get a responses here. Am I missing something?

Gary; I'd be happy to reply, but I've pretty well covered my bike/DOT problems as you know. Will still be happy to fill out your form and/or give you Iowa's (dishonored/renegged) procedure. Are YOU now having trouble? ANYTHING you need. Just name it! I continue to research this, too, and have a lot of info. Check your p.m. for my response/tactics with IA.

Scott :)

Chaindrive: Thanks dude, actually I have my plates already. The '99's and older are really a piece of cake to plate as the laws weren't all caught up yet. My post was to show those looking into this how to get it done. Further, the '00 and newer crowd has had success, with extra work and/or tricks, but no one seems willing to post it here yet. Not sure why though. In the future, I'd like to do a newer bike, but only if I can plate it, thus I was hoping to gather everyone into posting here. So far, we can see I'm not getting far.

CrazyCooter - To cut and paste is real easy. Just hit the reply button. When that comes up, scroll down a bit and you will see my first post. Point your cursor over the text to copy. For this post point to the left of "*As purchased - BIKE BACKGROUND*", hold the left button down and drag a little right and then downward, working the cursor over the text you want. You will see it hilighted as you drag. Drag down to where it says "how'd you win the war". This should grab the text inbetween automaticly

Once the text you want is hilighted:

1. Right click anywhere in the hilight and select "Copy"

-or-

2. go to menu pick on IE header and pick "Edit" and then "Copy"

-or-

3. Hold the "CRTL" key and tap the "C" key, let go of both (the easiest I think)

If you did it right, the text is now in the clipboard.

Now you can just put the cursor back in the white reply area, and do this:

1. Right click and select "Paste"

-or-

2. go to menu pick on IE header and pick "Edit" and then "Paste"

-or-

3. Hold the "CRTL" key and tap the "V" key (the easiest I think)

The text you hilighted and copied should have pasted itself into your reply. Now you can just type over the answers I had in there and hopefully after all this, my questions here are somehow still "easy". *WHEW...*

Well this was sure a good use of time... :) so much for "trying".
