Mufflers..... what years?

7 posts in this topic

Picked up an 04 650l last week with a make-shift muffler ( way to loud ) I'd like to put a stock muffler back on. What other years can I use? Anyone got a stocker collecting dust they want to move? I checked the parts section, just want to make sure what years are interchangable.

93 to 08 will fit. I have one off my 07 with about 700 miles on it sitting in a box in my garage. PM me and make me an offer!

Is there anything you can do to a stock muffler to make it better? I'm going to do daves mods. I was planning on flipping this bike and make a $$, but spending $250-350 on a muffler does'nt fit that plan. Does the slipon make that big of a difference with the mods? Who knows, I might get this bike running and the wr450 will be on the chopping block.

well maybe check out ebay and if you can get a nice used for under 100 i think it will help you sell it if your gonna turn it.

you can drill the welds off the end cap and remove the 2 bolts holding it in. sounds kinda funny this way though.

yes it will be a different power plant with daves mods and a free flowing exhaust. runs circles around the stock engine. just dont forget to do the intake mods, air filter(stay away from K&N!) go with uni foam. remove the snorkel too.
