KLX 110 that is hard to shift into gear!!Help!!!

I just put a 4 speed shift drum in my 110 and it is hard to shift into first gear. It also has six heavy duty clutch springs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does it shift hard going into all the rest of the gears? They always pull hard with hd clutch springs. Try 3 or 4 instead of all 6. Just stagger the hd and stock ones. Your not only shifting the bike your releasing the clutch plates at the same time. If you go with a manual clutch you shifting will become easy again.

I did adjust the clutch but nothing helped. I was told that I needed all the clutch springs because we are running a 143cc kit, cam, big carb and exhaust. It is very hard to shift into first gear. I pull it up with my hand but after that I can shift with my foot.

Does the bike lurch or jump when you shift it into gear? Sounds to me like it is just the springs. Every 110 I have ridden with the auto clutch and hd springs shifts hard.

At this point I think we can eliminate the clutch as being the problem. Since the problem started after the shift drum was installed I tend to believe that there is a problem with the drum or in the reassembly.

The problem has been solved. It was the stiffer clutch springs. Thanks for all the help.
