My 03 600xrl Headlight is always on... I remember the good ole days when I had a choice..

I ride trail most of the time.

how can I add a switch without douching up my wiring system?

Simple question. Why?

The reason for the light being on all the time are the regulations. It is one of the things that Honda had to do in order to sell a bike registerable for the street.

The way the regulator works the drag on the engine is the same if the light is on or off. It has to do with how the regulator works.

I just got pulled over for running without a headlight during the day... I have a "running light" which is a small wattage output bulb in the front lense area now. My tailight is lit as well as this small bulb with the ignition on. I have been running around for a year like this without getting yanked until now. I thought the running light was cool, but not with this Cop. I think it was in '87 when it was federally mandated that all bikes sold for highway use had to have the headlight on at all times. Luckly, I was just given a warning...
