Fuel Mixture Screw 3 Turns Out?

3 posts in this topic

I own a 2007 WR450. The directions from the AIS kit tell me to use the stock main jet 162 and a 48 Pilot with the mixture screw 3 turns out.

It runs great. My question is this: Should I go one up on the main or the pilot to get to the optimum of 1-2 turns out on the mixture screw?

I have always heard that if you have to turn the screw out 3 turns, you need to go one up on either the main of the pilot. Can someone please clarify this?

Thanks a lot.

UP the pilot. You may also look for a vacuum leak since you have been messing around with the AIS. a vacuum leak will cause it to be lean at idle. check the system carfully before changing the pilot jet.
