The trick is to PULL BACK ON THE THROTTLE.....Rider ability also play a big part as to who gets Smoked by whom....450/400 don't mean squat in the woods....It's who's got the Balls and the ability that counts.

Practice, Practice, Practice....Sooner or later you will start smokin him....

Bonzai :)

I'll second that. I've got a buddy that can wax me on whatever he rides. We have a mile long track that has no jumps that we practice our turning, stopping, starting, etc and he could walk away from me... he was on my 88 XR250 and I was on a very well set up 2000 KX250. I think he could take me on an 80... but I'm getting there.

to compete with a crf you need a yzf!

the best you can do is gear it down, yz cam timing and a yz exhaust. EMM needle in the carb and practice, practice, practice.

Or a 450 kit for Eric Gore...........

Not much will stand in your way then.

Ride more and become a better rider than your buddy.

-or-

Buy a KTM520. If you do this and still get smoked, it's probably not the bike..

DL :)

Definetly yz time and jet your bike, put on a good pipe, lose some weight with a yz tank and SDG seat, no lights or odo, grey wire and roll with it.

Just go buy your new bike that you want and then worry about what the missus says....
