Pegs & tires, is it just me ??

6 posts in this topic

Got two things here. The frist is a question. Why is the lefthand footpeg on the the 650L tucked so far in next to the frame. Little over an inch from the right side. Sorry, but I have big feet, and this is starting to bug me. I have to keep my foot so far out on the peg to get under the shift. I know the day is coming I'm going to bust my shin bone because of this thing. Before I have my buddy saw this thing off the frame and weld a spacer in there. Are there wider pegs out there that will fit this bike ?

The other is an FYI. I have had some problems with American Moto Tire. This last one was I have been waiting six days now for a tire that I paid 2 day express air on. They just fessed up today, they put the tire on the wrong truck last Friday. It was like pulling teeth, but I got the $20.00 extra back I paided for the two day air. Everyone screws up now and again. But this was just stupid. Two days of a run-around to find this out. It should have been here yesterday (Monday), now I find out it won't be here till tomarrow, 8/15/07. Is it just me ??

The only reason the rt peg isn't tucked in, is that the 650L uses the 600R frame and footpeg bracket, which is spaced out to clear the non-existent kickstarter.

I was wishing they could both be tucked in, as I like dodging trees and squeezing through boulder fields.

:excuseme: I was wondering about that, thanks for that explination

I guess the R side could be cut and rewelded or would that weaken it too much ?

It could be done, it might need to be heat treated afterwords.

Also, your boot might end up turned to the outside a little to clear the clutch cover.
