Re jetting a WR450F 2007

Hi ! My name is Eric, I m a french rider who own a 2007 WR450F since 9 month.

I have to rejeting the carb but I don't know the best way to access to the carb.

I looking for a a tutorial with picture and/or video ? Does someone can help me to find that ?

Remove Seat

Remove Fuel Tank

Remove Side Panels

Drain Radiator Overflow Tank and Lines

Disconnect AIS and Engine Vent Lines From Airbox

Remove Lower Sub-Frame Bolts

Loosen Upper Sub-Frame Bolt

Loosen Carb to Airbox Clamp

Swing (Carefully) Sub-Frame Up Just Past Vertical and Secure With Line

Remove Upper Shock Attach Bolt (12m)

Remove Lower Shock Attach Bolt (14mm)

Remove Shock

Remove Upper Engine Mounts

Remove Carb Cable Cover and Cables

Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor Wire

Disconnect Hot-Start Cable (14mm)

Loosen Carb to Engine Clamp

Remove the Carb

I may have missed a couple of details but thats about it! The re-jet is easy!

Sounds not so easy...what kit did you go with?

WOW I can't believe people are taking apart their entire bikes to swap jets :eek:

Here is what I did:

1. Removed seat, shrouds, tank

2. Removed the two top motor mounts (gives you access to needle)

3. Loosened air boot and intake clamps, rotated carb and removed big bolt from float bowl (gives you access to pilot and main and barely enough room to drill out the gay EPA plug on fuel screw hole.)

I didn't have to replace anything else other than the pilot, needle, and main. If I needed to get to the leak jet or the AP cover, then the subframe would have to come off and the shock would have to be dropped as there is not enough room to take the float bowl off or to get to the AP cover. You can do the o-ring mod the carb on the bike, but that requires a clear mind, flexible hands, alot of patcience.

That folks is the price we pay to have fancy shmancy 4 strokes with aluminum frames :crazy:

You know JSanfilippo, if we would search a bit more or ask before jumping in we would have done it like you suggest! :worthy:
