any 98 slide solution?

3 posts in this topic

Hi fellow 98 model owner, this is the 3rd time I replaced my carby slide :)

It is a expensive part which really make me

feel uncomfortable. :D

Anyone with a solution which can solve it once and for all??

I know change to a newer carby will solve the problem, but it is more expensive?

Or anyone of you can fabricate the slide with

other type of material?? :D

Hmmm... replaced due to cracking or wear??

Disintergration??

I know the 98 WRs had probs with the slides cracking on them.. a few went through the motor.. (for those who don't know.. thats BAD!) :)

Guys, I got an ideal, let's hear what your comments.

I'm thinking maybe I could use those metal poxy which is used to fix the rad problem,

to re-enforce the cracked line .

After hardening, use a hand file to smoothen the edges. Do you think the petrol vapour will soften the poxy? :)

Guys, what do you think, anyone in chemical engineering?
