16 posts in this topic

I am thinking about heading up to Gorman this Saturday. Anyone up for a ride? I have never been there before and would like to ride there before the redsticker thing starts. Later.

Hmmmm,

I'll give it a try, sorry I can't give you a for sure answer as I won't know until late fri night, How about you park at lower scrub oak campground, tell me what you are driving and what time. And I will try to be there, if I don't make it, feel free to start without me. I drive a black 2door Tahoe with my WR on hitch rack, T-Talk stickers on front fender of WR. Once again, sorry to sound so flakey..

Bman!

How the heck are you? I thought you were going to be beached for some time due to family 911! I noticed that your not sounding too positive yourself :) Since nobody has poped up (at least here anyway) with when and where, How about Lower Scrub Oak campground @ 10am?.. Thoughts?..

tp,

Take I-5 north, exit @ Smokey Bear Rd. Travel down Hungry Valley Rd. past USFS booth,(they will give you map when you give them $) Road forks after about 5mi. Go right on Gold hill Rd. for about a mile. Lower Scrub Oak campground is on the left. Campgounds are well marked, bathrooms and tables only, bring your water. I think this should about cover it. Since this is your 1st time there, be VERY careful in lower areas due to chances of high speed head-on's. Specialy with those Go@#%& quads..

Howard,

It's a long drive for you to do a one day ride, but there's plenty of overnite camping. Yes some good long single track, mixed with real tech stuff. There's area's down low that have too much traffic so I tend to get out of the park and run the Nat. Forest. Mixed terrain some area's real rocky. I'm just starting to go back there after not being there in a long time so I end up re-exploring as so many different routes and new closures. There's an awesome mx track there too, well maintained and groomed. Hope this helps
