RAD MFG spokes?

6 posts in this topic

Just got a set of Excel A60 rims and was wondering if anyone has had expierence with the RAD MFG spokes and nipples? They seem quality like the rest of their products but just wanted to get some first hand results.

I laced up some rims for a guy with Rad hubs, spokes, and nipples. The nipples where anodized blue and rounded off really easy. I was using a Fasst spoke wrench too. The Rad nipples have a 10mm head on them, but its useless because once the nipple screws on the spoke far enough the rim prevents the socket from making contact with the nipple.

They looked cool when I got done. (Blue nipples, blue hubs, and stock rims), but I thought the quality of the nipples was very poor.

they may or may not work - To me not worth the chance of finding out they fail...:excuseme:

For what the A60s cost I would use either excel or bulldog spokes.....

I know I am going to get nailed on this BUT are their any good quality spokes that are available with RED nipples? For the money I am spending on a set of wheels I would like them exactly how I want them.

You mean like these...I got the complete set from my local dealer about 2 months ago and havent had to tighten a spoke yet. Good luck!
