oil drain bolt

6 posts in this topic

I am looking for what some people call a piggy back plug for the bottom of case oil drain plug, on my 02 426. I am scared that after a while the threads will pull out because of the soft aluminum. The plug is bassically a stock drain plug with a sort of bleeder valve on the end eliminatingpulling the cap out of the case everytime. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I've never seen one. I've had to heli-coil a few threads on my bike and I think as long as you don't over tighten it you'd be fine. Get a nice magnetic drain plug and just use caution.

I personally haven't stripped a drain plug (or had one fall out) in so long I can't remember when the last one was. Do it right, and there's nothing to worry about.
