gytr wieghted flywheel

Just thought although I have seen these I would post up for the '06 450. Put it in today and huge difference at low rpm riding. I really think anyone that is thinking about this just go for it. I know I will enjoy riding even more now in the woods.

Forgot to add that I bought the heaviest off road flywheel.

Adds 9.21 oz. for an inertia mass of 6.15 kg-cm² (stock inertia mass=3.8 kg-cm²)

I am running the stock sprockets. I ride trail only I am not an experienced rider by any means. I really don't think this would hurt if you get on the track every now and then and it really helps in the tight technical parts of the woods.

I am a B level off road racer and I ran the stock 14/49 and 14/51 gearing with this same flywheel. Benefits are increased traction by reducing wheel spin and helps keep the motor lit in the rough rocky first gear stuff. Yet you can still ride the MX tracks. It's actually nicer coming out of the turns hard on the gas with the reduced wheel spin.

Well stock is 3.8 inertia mass mine is 6.15 and that one is 4.9. I would guess you wouldn't feel a whole lot of difference between stock and that and one. You would probably be able to tell a difference, but if your wanting to trail ride much I would go with the heavier one. It doesn't really take the snap away as much as it just makes it friendlier at lower rpms. It just doesn't die at low rpms nearly as easy with the heavier weight.

Why are you selling it?

I'm racing a 07 WR450 now. no need for it. And since selling a bike with all the goodies on it brings in no more than a stocker. I stripped down the YZ and sold as stock except for the suspension.

I put the 4.9 on my 2006 YZ450F because I ride 100% MX. You can tell a diffeence. It doesn't rev as fast, but it does provide better traction out of corners and stalls much less in corners. The 450F still has plenty of power, but it is a little harder to hit quick jumps immediately out of a sharp turn.
