Thanks I wish I could take credit. The nice man I purchased it from did it all. Bike has an estimated 600 miles on it. Can't wait for the snow to melt so I can go give it a try

Hauled the plated one up to Wall of China Mart for a guy to look at it. He's gonna buy it. I'll miss it but I won't miss the payment. Frees up some money for needful things. : )

Bought my 2014 WR 450 couple of weeks ago.  I haven't had the chance to go out and ride yet because we have a 2 week old newborn.  So, what does one do when he can't ride?  Wrench.  First thing i did was add the ECU and throttle screw.  Next thing was add some Cycra hand guards (bark busters).  After that came the Devol radiator guards.  But, what I did today was add a Scott's Steering Damper SUB Mount.  It took a little longer than i thought, but the installation was smooth without any hiccups (just make sure you block the wheel and put a tie down between the frame and the front wheel!!!).  

 

I also have a few more things coming in the mail:  FMF PC4, Devol Skid Plate and IMS tank (clear).  Looking forward to getting out there!

I haven't done much to it lately, just been riding it.

 

Same here, not much snow yet this winter, not too many sleds out in the trails. 

 

But i have to watch where i ride, so i don´t mess upp my tyres

What a great time, break in went very smooth.  This week when my shipment arrives, I will be adding GYTR Radiator guards, hand guards, silencer, IMS tank and my Obie link guard. My Scott steering stabilizer adapter for the WR will be ordered this week along with the ECU competition kit with tuner.  In two weeks I will be getting the bike inspected and plated here in Colorado. I am new to blogging on Thumper Talk and have learned so much from all of you, thank you for all your blogging.

W R, Thanks, I will do my best to provide feedback.  So far I really like the bike, most of the people I ride with, ride WRs and I have owned many Yamaha's in the past. Also IMO I received a good deal at the end of the year on the 2015 so I couldn't pass it up.  :-) :goofy:

Getting it ready to sell. Checked the valves. All in spec. Regreased linkage, steering stem. Changed oil and air filter. Cleaned her up, man I'm going to miss this bike. Well maybe not too much :)

My New Zealand "New" 2009 WR450F 

 

I've had this 2 weeks now from 0'kms over Christmas break, I have done the following.

 

Radiator braces, Hand guards off my old bike (the guards it came with give poor coverage) YRD factory jets as supplied by Yamaha dealer for New Zealand, Grey wire mod, Yamaha muffler tip change, throttle stop, o-ring around throttle and acc pump, air box snorkel removal, handle bar riser, fitted alloy bash plate, scuff proof on decals & head light, AIS removal, greased steering, swing arm and link bearings, fitted seal savers to forks, run x2 carb breather hose to air box after T piece on carb and run crank breather to a filter in the air box... only to return it to original location after it pumped the air box with engine oil. Yet to discover if it still puts oil into the air box. (note: after reading many forum comments: this does not mean your engine is worn... Its a brand new bike).

 

The lessons learnt... don't follow everything you read on forums as much of it is "b_ll shite" or has limited supporting evidence/follow up reports etc. I could have done without wasting my money and time fitting the breather hose through the air box, The after thought being... If you have water up to the bottom of your air box (location of factory fitted breather hose on 09 model after the hose goes over the frame and plumbs of to the starter gears you should be stopping to clear/check that air box anyway and the breather filter gets soaked after washing the bike anyway...).

 

Suspension was perfect for me at 90kg or 100 kg with gear after first trail ride on rough single track on all manner of terrain, rocks, streams, slippery clay, rough farm hill climbs and grass/dry dirt during mid summer. 

(Before you jump to the conclusion that you need new springs for heavy riders. (As stated by the Yamaha workshop, Play with your fork oil level before splasing out on springs & valves as I expected too). That said, I wouldn't want to be jumping my WR450 with the factory springs. Good for intermediate trail riders.  

 

The original Dunlop D908 enduro tyres are completely under rated for cross country, but they are probably not for sale these days anyway. They performed better than my Pirelli scorpion extra x tyres on my KTM350 also set up for trail riding but now for sale after it cost me a few grand to rebuild after the chain tensioner failed.

 

These are the NZ/AUZ jet sizes from YRD kit. (from dealer bulletin sheet) 08-09 WR450F

MOD: Throttle screw 23.1mm total length of screw 

Main jet: was 162 now 175

Main air jet was (not fitted) now 110

Needle was NFNT with set position now (DSQ position 3 down from top)

Pilot jet was 45 now 50

Slow air jet 70 remains 70

Pilot screw turns out was 1 & 3/4 (mine is now after market easy reach screwed about one turn out, still tuning as engine wears in)

Leak jet was 60 now 45

 

Note: I had some trouble with starting after jetting & i refitted the 45 pilot, then swapped back etc, (the after market mixture screw could have a slightly different tip throwing your basic recommendation of 2 turns out off the table, keep this in mind while jetting them). Bike maybe rich but starts and runs good (hot and cold etc).

My battery decided to take a shit the night before my last ride .

Charger said the batt was full but would only crank the motor one time and then click click click....

Luckily a buddy brought me his extra and I was able to ride !

I was very keen on getting a '16 model but the runout deals on the left over '15s were just too good.

Where do you ride normally?

It's been a few years but when I stopped riding dirt I was out at Spangler a lot. Like to hit Frazier in the summer and fall and hit up Ortega every once in a while too.

      So I was cutting my neighbors lawn when i came across this bike in my neighbors barn. They said i could have it for free and i thought it would be a great thing to try and fix up. But after looking at it and doing some research i cant find what it actually is. I believe  it is a 1985 YZ 125, but i am not sure. Anyone know what it is and where i might be able to find some parts for it? Or if it would be better just top sell it for parts. Thanks!

      For sale is my 2015 Beta 350RR. 2734 miles and 120 hours. Just had some top end work done by Sierra BMW and BETA. Fresh air filter and oil. This is an awesome dual sport bike. Or you can strip the lights and turn signals and have a single track weapon, your choice. This bike will do it all. Unfortunately, I've been riding my 2 stroke lately and don't have room or the time to maintain 2 bikes. My loss is your gain! Front tire only has a few rides on it, the rear needs to be changed. Beta's are super reliable and amazing machines that rival KTM and Husky! 

      -Forks revalved by LT-Racing for 210# rider w/gear
      -Mylers oversized radiators and bulletproof radiator guards
      -Folding ARC clutch and brake levers (I have the stock levers as well)
      -3.1 gallon tank. (I also have the stock tank)

      I have a 1987 yamaha tt 225 that needs a new carburetor.  I've looked EVERYWHERE online and can't find an original.  Does anyone know a good replacement one I can put on it?

      Amazing bike but due to family obligations it sits in my garage most of the time. The bike has maybe 5 hours on it and runs like new. It comes with a GYTR FMF silencer with spark arrestor. There are some scratches on the plastic and and pipe from trail riding but that's what it is made for and its only cosmetic. The bike has been maintained and garage kept.       So I just did a rebuild on my 98 Yz80, and it wont start. At first, we put the gaskets on wrong, so coolant was leaking everywhere. After we fixed that, and put everything back into place again, piston went up and down smoothly, and it has great compression. The problem is, it does not want to start. Im not really sure what to do, because before, my compression was very low, so I did a rebuild, but now it still does not start. So I need help.
