Can you tell me if the tank and stock seat is a perfect fit?

It is, I'm quite happy with the swap. I ended up with a different tank, but it is an IMS natural oversized tank.

You can see closeup photos of both in my garage. I have to push on the seat a little to get the rear screws in, but no worse than an aftermarket seat on my friends 250X.

Unabiker radiator guards won't fit with an oversized YZ tank though. I have a thread in this forum on that. Devol seems to fit.

Finally brought my bike down to have the valves checked, Something i should have done long ago

Good job, this is something that should be done regularly. Get the service manual and do it yourself every couple of oil changes. It isn't hard to do at all.

It will save you some dough if you catch them before they grenade your top end.

Bought a slightly used 2007 today. Stock with the exception of a BD light kit. Time to start planning the new build:thumbsup:

I replaced the crank assembly due to a bearing failure, replace 3 intake valves due to carb boot leak, put in YZ exhaust cam, jetted carb and polished ports in head and combustion chamber. That combined with FMF exhaust system = WOW!!! Instant response, pulls to the rev limiter.

I had to replace the crank too. Did your crank gear (timing chain) have alot of wear too?

I'll be getting my bike back from my mechanic, with a new rear tire, new pilot jet, new float bowl valve and seat or whatever it's called, new rear wheel bearings, and then working to dial in the suspension with him to be plush for off road riding.

...then it's off for a mudfest this Sunday sunday sunday!!!!

That is just totally sick.

Just did the JD jetting kit on my 08. It really smoothed things out a lot. I'm glad I spent the money. The WR is just a really nice riding machine. I'm falling in love with it. I think the YZ 250 2t is going up for sale.

Now it's time to decide on cams. The YZ cams are attractive if it wasn't for the starting issues.

Very cool!

Well I took my WR400 out for it's inaugural (to me) trail ride, and it was friggen AWESOME! I'm coming off a 1982 XR250... and man did they do a lot with suspension in those 17 years, haha! I also had Mike Cardenas clean out the carbs and set the accelerator pump stuff for me, and the bike is AMAZING! Takes a few kicks to start, but after that it starts first kick, every time, with EASE! The decompression is easy enough to work with, the hot start works, and sometimes it doesn't even need it! MAN this bike rocks!

I float over stuff that used to throw me off, I tractored up hills, I bombed jumps bigger than usual and didn't bottom out, and I wheelied EVERYWHERE! BOOYA!

      For sale is my 2015 Beta 350RR. 2734 miles and 120 hours. Just had some top end work done by Sierra BMW and BETA. Fresh air filter and oil. This is an awesome dual sport bike. Or you can strip the lights and turn signals and have a single track weapon, your choice. This bike will do it all. Unfortunately, I've been riding my 2 stroke lately and don't have room or the time to maintain 2 bikes. My loss is your gain! Front tire only has a few rides on it, the rear needs to be changed.       I have a 1987 yamaha tt 225 that needs a new carburetor.  I've looked EVERYWHERE online and can't find an original.  Does anyone know a good replacement one I can put on it?

      Amazing bike but due to family obligations it sits in my garage most of the time. The bike has maybe 5 hours on it and runs like new. It comes with a GYTR FMF silencer with spark arrestor. There are some scratches on the plastic and and pipe from trail riding but that's what it is made for and its only cosmetic. The bike has been maintained and garage kept.       So I just did a rebuild on my 98 Yz80, and it wont start. At first, we put the gaskets on wrong, so coolant was leaking everywhere. After we fixed that, and put everything back into place again, piston went up and down smoothly, and it has great compression. The problem is, it does not want to start. Im not really sure what to do, because before, my compression was very low, so I did a rebuild, but now it still does not start. So I need help.
