Rear Sprocket

Can anyone help, is it a straight swap from a 50T to a 52T rear sprocket or will I need to make any mods to the chain bloke. WR400 '00' model. Thanks.

Paul I'm running a 52 in the back on my bike right now and the chain does feed out of the guide at a sharper angle than with the 50. I've kept and eye on it and I don't see any dangerous amounts of wear on the chain or the guide. I do like the 52 much more than the 50. I can control wheel speed in the tight stuff much better without wearing out those smaller 13 tooth fronts like I had on my YZ250.

I too am running a 52 rear with a 14 front. I agree with what Jay said about the chain angle and am not experiencing any chain wear either. It did bring my wheel in quite a bit. So much so that everytime I moved the bike backwards, the mud flap was pulled up and out of the swingarm. But the chain has stretched enough now that it doesn't do that any more. This also gives you a shorter wheel base, good for cornering. I love this gearing with YZ timing. I was going back to WR timing before I tired this. It really helps with control on the nasty stuff.
