Ask lots of questions and you can usually tell if somebody is telling the truth

Sounds like a good deal. Ask lot's of questions and ride the bike. Then you'll know.

check it over, scrutinize everything, look at the airfilter, make sure its clean, look at the engine oil, make sure its clean... Check the valves if possible, if it all checks out go for it.

Also make sure when you ride it that nothing feels odd or funny.

how much is that usd?

4900 CAD equals 4660 US dollars:thumbsup: and about the price take deprecation values into account (value lost when it leaves the dealers floor or after it is ridden) he may have gotten a good price at the dealership. but just check it over, engine noise or anything that feels odd about it. theres a bunch of articles about buying a used bike on the net too just search for it good luck

Not that good of a deal considering you can get on 06 for 4500us$ all day long on ebay

thats sweet but wow. i shoulda bought a bike in the us... since the doller is so close now. i coulda got my 9300 dollar bike for what? 6400?

I bougt my 06 for 5200 new, so I would say 4500 used a year later is not a very good deal. And "Im wondering if the guy forgot to run it without oil or something" Who forgets to run it without oil? You would run it without oil, but not forget to run it without oil, this makes no sense. It does not take a genius to change oil in an 06, as it takes 1 quart per oil change, and tricking him into saying something he dose not want to say. There is no major trick in buying a used bike, ride it, inspect it, check it out and buy it if the price is right, im thinking this bike could be too much for you, simply by your post of forgetting to not put oil in and tricking the seller. Good luck.

Here in Canada that is a decent price. I see them in the Auto Trader for $5000-5500 all the time. I just sold my 06 for $5000 so $4900 is a decent going price, but not a major steal.
