Choosing a rear spring...

4 posts in this topic

Without buying one of every spring rate, and swapping them out until I'm happy, what is a good way to determine the proper rear spring rate for my 2000 XR650R? I weigh in at about 225lbs, and probably like 235 ready to ride.

On the first ride the other day, it was obvious that the rear suspension was a little soft for my fat ass...

I am about 240lbs and put on an eibach 11 rate spring this year.

Feels just right, but admittedly I don't ride the bike that hard.
