oil filter

8 posts in this topic

yes

Thats not such a dumb question. Some have reusable filters and some change theirs every other time, or every 3rd time.

I would change it everytime though since it is a 98, but every other time will work also. Just make sure your keeping fresh oil in the bike.

i do mine every other time... put a 426 header on your 400 and you don't have to pull the exhaust to get the filter out, much easier.

Buy a Scotts , clean it with every single oil change, and never buy a filter again. $60 sounds like a lot, but even compared to $3 bulk pack filters, it will pay for itself in under a year and a half. And, it's a better filter, anyway.

I'll second this!!! Definitely worth it's price, and you never have to run out to get more filters when you are changing your oil.....you know, it's always when you are packing for that awesome weekend of riding that you end up empty handed filter-wise, and the local shop "can order it".....
