Honda Domiantor NX 650 oil consumption?

I hope this is not illegal to post this tread here

It is about a Honda NX 650 Dominator, same engine as the XR 600…

I am going to buy a new bike so to day I hade a look at a NX 650

Some quick info about the bike

Model year 2000

Mil 1700 (25500 miles) did I count right?

All the service has been documented at a Honda service shop

The bike is in overall great condition: no noise from the engine the plastic is whole

BUT! According to the owner the bike drinks some oil. About two ore there decilitre in 100 mil ( 1600 miles) Is this normal? Ore should I look fore a another bike?

Excuse my English I am from Sweden… Hoppe you guys understand what I am trying so write.

Your English is better than my Swedish.

How many cc/100km or cc/1000km?

The NX 650's are notorious for guzzling oil. All of the Honda big bores are known to drink a little oil from time to time, but the NX 650 (Dominator) is by far the worst.

My has had 3 different NX 650's, and they ALL drank oil. None of them smoked at all, and one only had about 750 miles on it; the bike was PRISTINE. However, it still drank oil. He had to check the oil every time he rode the bike.

What your experiencing sounds about normal to what he had.

cc? Hummmm you must mean centiliters maby?

The bike drinks about 20 cc in 1000 km (0.2 liters in 1000 km)

200ml to 1000 km is pretty normal for that bike with kind of km's on it...

Check oil level often and give it a good warm-up every time when cold.

Oil chance every 2500km orso with quality bike-oil.

Guess I chose the wrong units. 1000cc = 1 liter. cc is cubic centimeters.

.2 liter/1000km is normal.

My XR600 had worn out rings and was using more than 1 liter/1000km before I fixed it.
