Check your front wheel bearings !

2 posts in this topic

Do your self a favor and grab your front wheel and try to move it side to side between the fork legs. Any play ?

My front wheel bearings are wasted, and I've heard of a few people saying they don't last as long as you'd expect on the 400's. My bike is a 98 and has some miles on it, but it hasn't been in much mud and compared to other bikes I've owned, I would have expected some more life.

Better to find out now - failed wheel bearings can be expensive...and painful :)

Damon,

If you don't already do it, go to a bearing supply store for your bearings. You should find them much cheaper, and you will not sacrifice quality - you may actually gain it. You will need to bring your bearing in to have it matched though.
