Which kind of feeler gauge to use

3 posts in this topic

Iam going to check the valves on my 06 450f sometime in june and was wondering if I could use the straight kind I bought at advance or if I need to get the tappet kind ( the ones that are straight but are bent at the end).

Normal, flat, 4" feelers work fine. They are the most useful if they're actually a metric set, but those are difficult to find. The next best is an English set marked with the metric equivalent. Those marked only in English can be used, you just have to do a little math to find the right size.
