My XRL top speed

Just an FYI, I got my 07 up to an indicated 100 mph today without much trouble. I don't think it would go much faster though. Fully tucked in of course, and the usual mods. I guess that's about right. It wheelies in first with just a handful of throttle and if you hit second while the suspension is rebounding it will do a small to medium wheelie without tugging on the bars. With a tug in second I can get a nice long second gear wheelie. Can't complain! I'm just doing some testing now that it's broken in.

are you using the stock gearing or did you change that at all ?

Denn, I have kept the stock gearing. I find that the stock first gear is only a tiny bit tall for dirt riding and I can accept that. On the other side of the spectrum I definitely don't want any shorter gearing for highway riding, so for me it's a good compromise.

I have an XR600R (see signature) and I can tell you that with my current factory gearing, the bike will only do about 79 MPH before it hits the rev limiter.

I know this because I have a Trail Tech Vapor and that is the fastest I could get the bike up to.

I am actually thinking about going up 1 tooth on the C/S sprocket to get more speed out of it. I believe my bike is geared from the factory with 14/48, or 13/48. Either way, when I replace the chain & sprockets, I am gearing it higher for more MPH.

15/45 is stock on the L.

Here's part of a tracklog from last saturday, removed the coordinates, closed course etc.:ride:

14/49 gearing, not tucked in.:)

1545 5/18/2007 12:01:02 PM 802 ft 267 ft 0:00:02 91 mph 10° true

1546 5/18/2007 12:01:04 PM 783 ft 133 ft 0:00:01 91 mph 10° true

1547 5/18/2007 12:01:05 PM 787 ft 266 ft 0:00:02 91 mph 10° true

As long as you mention the rev limiter, mine did not hit it at an indicated 100mph. I'd probably guess after you figure in the speedo error it is more like about 94mph. Still not bad. Besides the fun of this bike is rolling it on in low to mid rpms and get a nice dose of torque and that righteous exhaust note from the FMF:ride:

I'll second that> It is what it is.
