XR650L IMS Tank

I have searched in vain for the last hour, looking for pics of the IMS tanks. Anyone have a pic of the tank mounted to these bikes?:applause: WC

Check out my garage, the XR650L has a black IMS on it.

Nice looking bike!

So does the tank use the stock mounting points or do you have to fabricate something to make it work?

By the way, where did you get those frame protectors to keep the V part of the frame from getting scratched up by your boots?

Thanks

here's another.. Still liking the thumper racing baffle?:applause:

couple pics in my garage... it actually feels narower than the stocker to me, maybe cause my knees arent bumping into those wings anymore...

Everything needed to mount it up, came with the tank, except the fuel petcock, which is used from the stock tank. The frame guards are DeVols, made for the later model XR 600 R. You have to make a couple of holes so the passenger peg mounts with go through. The graphics on the tank are for an XR 50, with the red parts cut off. The bike's been a lot of work, but it works pretty decent...

Oh yeah! I think I need to do a minor bit of jetting though since it has a flat spot right off idle.

Thanks. That'll be the one I order next week! Nice bikes too fellas.

Windchill..I spoke out of turn. The frame guards I have are Works Connection, for an XR600R.

I just checked.....

Did you go with the IMS 4.0 gallon tank?

You cant get those frame guards anymore they discontinued them.

4.0 gal? looks just like the one on my bike.

I'm pretty sure I got them from a Parts Unlimited dealer about 5 yrs ago,

along with a lot of other stuff I bought. If I find any others, I'll post the info.

4 or 4.7, never measured it.:) I just barely had enough to do white rim after salvaging a quart from the antifreeze jug that didn't make it. From Moab it was 154 miles round trip. Riding hard I hit reserve around 100 miles.:ride:
