Inner Tube Help

I searched and must not have entered the correct info. I'm sure this has been covered. Just smoked by rear tube after having to ride it 10 miles flat. I have a Kenda Tuff Tube to replace it, but don't know if that is the way to go. What does everyone suggest. I'm pretty sure I slammed a rock and pinched or caused the flat. Just general riding but at times we ride a lot of rock. I want something that is durable, but not going to the bib mouse thing. Also going to start packing a tube with me, but what one. The Kenda tube is freaking huge, and I was hoping for a little info on a thin tube that will work to get me back. It will be a front tube, and would only be used to get me back to the rig. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I run bridgestone ultra HD tubes front and rear. These are by far the toughest but heaviest tubes out there. I've never had a flat when running these tubes. Make sure you powder them when mounting tire. I also carry a thin front tube on long rides.

I'll second Bridgestone ultra HD tubes. 4mm thick natural rubber - they are the best. Also 14 psi is the minimum tire pressure in the rocks when running at high speed. I've hit hard enough to bend a few rims, but have not had any flats in several years.

Trailor..What thin tube do you use for packing? Running 15# but did not check before the ride. Running WFO in 3-4th and some pretty sharp rock. Did not feel too many hard ledge type hits today, but had some huge ones a couple weeks ago. Could have finally burst from the hard hits earlier. Hard enough to comment about pumping up the poundage because of the hard hits. Could have been low checked about two weeks ago. Ride and learn.

Like everyone else said, Bridgestone or Michelin Ultra Heavy Duty tubes front and rear, 10-15 psi, conditions depending (usually 12 psi).

I keep a standard MSR (or whatever is cheap) 21" tube in my pack. I usually wind up giving it to a friend when they flat out, though.

I run the MSR HD (per Dwight's advice), and have had great results. They fit in a tank bag, and are just as light as a stocker. I've heard they are no stronger than stock, but at 12 PSI, I haven't flatted one yet. I tend to ride really fast on trails, and hit some really jagged rocks (the kind that make your brain rattle) and they have earned my confidence. There is nothin' worse than a flat on the trail, so if they weren't great, I wouldn't run 'em.

I'll have to try them then. I have noticed some rubber in the tire on dismount when running low pressure which is what I normally run. Good tip NC.:applause:

my bike is a mongrel mix of yz and wr 03-05 (03 works suspension,05 yz motor,05 wr frame,etc...) so i have no real home:cry:

those moose HD's are made in germany and as usual the germans just don't screw around...glad to share the wealth:thumbsup:
