Tire Sizes?

Ok, What do the numbers correspond to in tire sizes differences?

example

110/100 18

140/80 18

what do these numbers correspond to in hieght, width ect...?

First number is width (Millimeters).

Second number is profile height which is wierd calculation. The larger the number, the larger the Outside Diameter (OD) or rolling diameter of the tire.

Also note that a 140/100 and a 120/100 are not the same OD. The 140/100 will have a larger OD. This is why wider tires typically have shorter profile numbers to keep the OD relatively similar.
