I cut and pasted the wrong numbers for the 450X. Here's the correct ones from Honda:

1 2.231 (29/13)

2 1.625 (26/16)

3 1.235 (21/17)

4 1.000 (19/19)

5 0.826 (19/23)

Final Reduction 3.923 (51/13)

Notice the taller 5th gear.

Both bikes will touch the rev limiter in 5th.

The X's gearing is taller. The X is faster than the R.

The only way a stock CRF450R will go 95 mph is if it's dropped from an airplane.

Mate 94mph is almost 150km/hr stock.

There is no way on this earth a CRF450R does that with 13/48 gearing(stock)

The CRF450R with 13/48 gearing will NEVER do 150km/hr - never will, has or is ever going to.

I have a 14/48 geared CRF450R and it will do 110km-115km hr TOPS!!!

The X has a wide ratio tranny, and stock a lot less hp than the R. With a few mods, they will come pretty close to the same power. The point is that the 450R wasn't designed for top speed, and stock gearing won't pust 94mph. The 450X was built for top speed, and with stock gearing, it won't do 94mph! The XR650R will do 90 plus with stock gearing if it's uncorked.

It's a little bit of a misnomer the X being wide ratio - it's 3rd gear is the same as the 450R (pls check) true the top and 4th are wider but it's not your traditional wide speed gearbox aala 650R/L.

Well my trail bike, will kill the to speed of any stock geared motocross bike I've ran it against. My bike is NOT stock, and has more power than a stock crf450r, and again it will NOT do 90mph on GPS. I also own a very modified XR650R, that will do 119mph on GPS. If geared equally, both a 40hp CRF450X and a 40,000hp CRF450X will both go 82mph.

Top speed is dependant on gearing, not power. If a bike has the power to redline in top gear more power doesn't make any more speed.

Are you really that stupid? I said I hit the rev limiter, which will keep any bike from going faster regardless of horse power! The X has a little smaller valves, and a LOT of easy mods to the air intake, cam, and exhaust system to bump power. If the X can't go faster than the R, then why did the factory Honda teams use only the CRF450X at baja, not the CRF450R, which is lighter. By the way, it also beat the XR650R in the 1000, and the 500. The 450R is a motocross bike, the 450X is a desert RACE bike! Keep up the good work of making yourself look stupid!:bonk:

To make things easy for your slow mind to get, on my CRF450X, I have stock gearing, stock rev limit. The engine is NOT stock! My bike is very quick to 84mph, and then hits the rev limiter (and stops going faster). I don't want it to go faster, I will probably gear it to go slower. I don't ride roads on this bike, I ride the dirt! I climb steep crappy hills, with big rocks. I don't need to go 94mph any more than a motocrosser! I have supermoto wheels with a 45 tooth rear sprocket if I want to go fast on the pavement, and since this bike is not plated, I don't need to go 94mph on the go cart tracks I race on either!

I have a plated XR650R with 17 inch Michilin Pilot Race tires to go fast on the street, and this bike will go 94mph!

I have a 2007 CRF450R and yes it does 150km, iv also had my friend race me with my XR650R, the XR only very slowly passes me at a max speed of 98mph. The good thing with CRF450R is that you can pull up the front wheel doing 140km,, Feels really nice smooth wheely till the rev limiter :bonk:

top speed on a CRF450R is 86 MPH. But boy does it get there in a hurrey.
