I'm planning on replacing my rear hub with another stock hub and plan on using the original spokes. I was told I should replace the spokes because they're most likely stressed. How do you know when your spokes are stressed? I would think that would mean they have stretched too. The rim has always been in pretty good shape and true, I rarely ever needed to tighten spokes and the spoke nipple has lots of thread showing. I really don't know if the spoke nipple thread has anything to do with it, but if the spoke has stretched and occasional spoke tightening was needed, I would think the spoke would be at the end of the threads. I'm trying to keep my cost at a minimum and really could use some advice.
