Im wanting to change my gearing and I love the look of the red or black sprockets like renthals. I just flipped through a couple of catalogs but no luck, just found silver. Anyone seen anything?

All you have to do is change your sprocket bolts to newer style CR sprocket bolts and you can run CR sprockets and they have them in lots of different colors. Found this out by calling Renthal and it works great. Talon sells a CR sprocket bolt kit for $10.00

Motosportoutlet but you can just order OEM Honda CR sprocket bolts that are 2000 or newer. Talon isn't the only one that makes after market sprocket bolts that is just the ones I bought.

Just looked at motosportoutlets site and could only find the ones listed below but I am sure they will work the same. Also I would call Renthal to double check the year of the bolts for your bike, I just went with 2000 CR bolts since I have a 2000 XR600R

I dont see how that works if the stock bolts are m10 and the cr bolts are a m8. I know this because I accidentally ordered CR bolts for my R which has the same rear bolts as the L.

The hub holes will round out if you use the smaller bolt.

Well it works for the 600R and I thought the 600R/650L use the same sprockets unless the 650L is cush mounted which might make it use a different sprocket since the hub is different. Here are some pics of a 2002 Renthal CR sprocket on a XR600 with Talon CR sprocket bolts and a OEM XR600 sprocket with OEM bolts. The only difference in the two sprockets is that the CR sprocket bolts are recessed more into the sprocket than the XR style sprockets. I didn't just figure this out magically, I called Renthal asking them were I could find a 48 Renthal sprocket for a XR600 and they told I could just change to newer CR sprocket bolts and order CR sprockets. I don't like colored sprockets so I just got silver. Click the link below for some crappy pics.

The R and L should be the same. The both have M10 holes in them.

The hub on my 95 R has M10 holes, as confirmed at the talon website: http://www.talon-eng.co.uk/talon-nuts-bolts.asp Part TSB2

The bolt kit I have here are M8, like the TSB1 kit on Talon's site. My package says these fit the CR, but I could be wrong.

So to me it looks like the CR bolts are smaller in diameter (M8) than the diameter as the hole in your hub (M10).

The sprocket holes may match up center to center but there will be some play and eventually you will destroy your hub. That's assuming the sprocket bolt package I have here is labeled correctly.

First off they match up perfectly and both sets of bolts are the exact same length and diameter they just have a different head design each made to fit either the XR sprocket or the CR sprocket. I don't know what kind of sprocket bolts you have but they are different than mine and must be for a older year CR or something? I got this INFO from Renthal directly and they said the only difference between the two sprockets CR vs XR is the mounting area where the bolt head contacts the sprocket.

Also look at Talons website and the TDB3 is XR and CR rear up to 2001 but like I said the bolts I have are both EXACTLY the same except for the head design.

TDB3 are the brake rotor bolts, not sprocket bolts.

I have TSB1 which were sold for a CR and they are M8.

If they do fit this is great news for me as well, but from all the parts I have here, it suggests that the CR uses M8 width bolts and the XR and XRL use M10 width bolts on the hub.

Service honda also lists the CR bolts as a M8, and M10 for the XR and XRL.

Well if the Talon sprocket bolts weren't installed with red lock tite by me I would pull one and pull a stock one to show you. The only difference is the head of the bolts not the length or the diameter.
