Free torque wrench

the promotion on yamahas website didnt say anything about buyin before a certain date. i even applied to get one with the vin from my 03 wr 450 and it was an option on the pull down menu so i guess i will see if it shows?

After three phone calls and about an hour on the phone, what I have learned is that the vehicle had to be registered for warranty before 12/31/06.

Therefore, even though I ordered my '07 WR450 in the middle of November (AND purchased my son a brand new '06 TTR50E that day) since I did not take delivery of the WR until mid January, I cannot get the wrench.

The product specialist at Yamaha called my dealer (A really good guy to work with, who has tried to get me the wrench) and told him he should buy the wrench and give it to me. That is BS. It is Yamaha's fault that they could not get the bikes to the dealerships in time for their own promotion. :applause:

I've been a die-hard Honda fan for many years. I went with the Yamaha this time, because of the great service I receive from Fremont Motorsports, (Florence Colorado) where I bought these two new Yamahas. This free torque wrench crap wouldn't stop me from buying another bike from my buddy Gary at Fremont Motorsports, but the jury is still out on whether I would buy another Yamaha. Unfortunately, his other line is Kawasaki , and I don't think I can go green....

The rep from Yamaha is trying to make me happy, but I don't know what she can come up with that would be as nice as that wrench. I am supposed to know sometime today.

What a bummer.:applause:

Well, it is official. I am NOT getting the torque wrench, and I am NOT getting anything in lieu of the torque wrench due to Yamaha 's inability to deliver my bike before the end of the promotion. I just waited ten minutes on hold for this...

I haven't even started this bike yet. I wonder what I would get in trade on a CRF 450X? :applause:

Just kidding. I think the WR is a better bike. But I won't be buying any GYTR parts for either of these bikes. I'll give someone else my money. And my next street bike will NOT be a Yamaha. This is going to cost them more than the $300 the torque wrench would have cost. I guarantee that. :applause:

Good to hear i am still waiting on mine i got my Wr 12/22/06 should be here any day huh.

I took delivery of mine on the same day and got my wrench a couple weeks ago.

Thats stupid, yamahas customer service at its finest. You spent a lot of money on a bike and dont get the promotion to go with it, it isnt your fault they didnt deliver the bike earlier.

its official this really worked, i am the third owner of a 2003 wr 450 and i tried the promotion online with my bike and i recieved my 3/8 impact today. sweet frickin deal!!!
